WELCOME! This is the Home Page of the Sampson AFB Veterans Fellowhip, Inc. We are engaged in a great search for all the men and women who trained, or were stationed, at Sampson AFB, near Geneva, NY.
Originally built in 1942 as a Naval Training Station, closed at the end of WWII, Sampson was reactivated as a USAF Training Base in 1951, and for six years, until 1956, was alive with young Air Force Men and Women training to serve their country. During the period we believe over 300,000 men received their basic training and another 50,000 men and women were stationed here as permanent party.
Over fourteen years ago we created a database and are trying to locate all 350,000. An impossible task to say the least. At this time we have over 64,000 names in the database and have located over 5600.
Your help is needed to find other that were stationed at Sampson. Send us an email at "SamAFBvet@aol.com" and we will add you to the list to receive our free newsletter, The Sampsonite. In each issue you will find our information form, information on reunions and other special group travel events and many "memory" letters from men and women who were at Sampson. There are no "dues" and we rely totally on donations to support the printing and postage costs for The Sampsonite.
You are welcome to sign our guest book and leave a comment for others to read.
